Company Information

Who is KG Tax? KG Consulting & Tax Services, Inc. is a Utah based CPA firm. Our physical address is:

KG Consulting
1755 North 400 East
Suite 101
North Logan, UT 84341

North Logan is in Cache Valley, a small farming community, home to Utah State University. We are located approximately 85 miles north of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our firm has two partners, Clifford N. Grover, CPA, and Kenneth B. Canfield, CPA/Macc.

    Q. What are the benefits of using online CPA Tax preparation?
    A. Using our online preparation system provides you a tremendous savings in preparation fees. Our site gives you the professional knowledge and experience of a CPA without paying the fees normally associated with a CPA prepared return. You enter the basic information for your return. Our staff will then contact you and set-up a time to discuss your tax situation with a CPA over the phone. This allows top of the line professional CPA tax preparation at a very reasonable price.

    Q. What are the costs of using KG Tax to prepare my return?
    A. There will be absolutely no cost to you until you have talked to a CPA. One of the first items discussed during your telephone interview will be the estimated cost of preparing your return. The only reason this cost will increase is if, through the telephone interview, the CPA receives information that was not inputted when the you keyed in your information and that additional forms must be prepared. If this situation occurs you will be immediately notified and have the opportunity to terminate our engagement at no cost. We have prepared a schedule to assist you in determining the cost of preparing your return. We feel these costs are very reasonable when you consider you will have a CPA preparing your return.

    Q. What if I don't want to input the data, or mess with any of this?
    A. Just ship the mess to us. We will give you a call as soon as we receive it to discuss the situation, and provide you with an estimate of the cost for assembling the information and preparing the return.

    Q. How fast can I receive my refund?
    A. Normally the IRS will deposit your refund into your account within 14 days of successful transmission of your return. KG Tax e-files all of the returns we prepare. If you owe taxes we will still e-file the return, and send you a voucher for the payment. This payment need not be made until the tax filing deadline of April 15, 2002. There are numerous advantages to e-filing returns. Primarily among these is the assurance that your return contains the proper spelling of names and social security numbers. The IRS has recently begun comparing their tax files with the databases of the Social Security Administration. If they do not match, you will receive various correspondence and your tax return processing will be delayed. We would rather fix any issues up front, rather than deal with them in July when you should be fishing.

    Q. I need serious help. I haven't filed for years and I owe a lot of money to the IRS. How can you help?
    A. We can help you with these situations by acting as your interface with the IRS. If you want our assistance in this matter we will immediately prepare a power of attorney. This will redirect the communication from the IRS to us, rather than you. We will then work with you to file the late returns and formulate a way of paying the taxes. If you qualify for protection as an innocent spouse, or injured spouse, we will prepare the necessary paperwork for you. If you need an installment agreement arranged we can negotiate this for you. If you don't have the money or income to pay the taxes you may qualify for an offer in compromise. Many times these can result in your paying just pennies on the dollar.
